Alireza Falahati, MD, FACE, is a board-certified endocrinologist and the founder and medical director of Utah Endocrinology Associates in Salt Lake City, American Fork, and Ogden, Utah. At his practice, Dr. Falahati treats a full range of endocrine disorders, with a specialization in diabetes, osteoporosis, and thyroid disease.
After graduating from the University of Vienna Medical School in Vienna, Austria, in 1994, Dr. Falahati relocated to Pennsylvania to continue his education. He completed his internship at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, and then went on to finish his internal medicine residency and chief residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Falahati proudly received his training as a sub-specialist in the field of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Since leaving the Mayo Clinic in 2001, he has received many national and international awards for his research. He has also published articles in respected medical and scientific journals and books. Dr. Falahati has given numerous lectures and interviews on topics related to osteoporosis, diabetes, pre-diabetes, and thyroid disorders.
Before founding Utah Endocrinology Associates, Dr. Falahati was the chairman of the Institutional Review Board overseeing research activities and the medical director of the Diabetes Center at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dr. Falahati is the current chapter president of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the founder and director of Utah Endocrinology Associates and the Utah Osteoporosis Foundation.
