Thyroid Ultrasound

This is an examination that utilizes the latest in sound wave imaging technology to provide precise images of internal organs, blood vessels, and superficial structures. A hand-held device called a transducer is placed on the patient’s skin overlaying the thyroid. A gel is placed on the front of the neck area and is used to help transmit the sound into the body. The transducer both sends the sound waves and receives the reflected sound waves. These signals are then sent to a computer for processing. The images that are produced can then be displayed on a monitor or saved on a USB drive and provided to you or your referring physician.

Our Thyroid Ultrasound is performed and documented by a Board Certified Endocrinologist (and not by a radiology technician) who will review and discuss the results with you the results of your ultrasound finding to minimize any delay in your care.
